Each year there are two occasions when we expect all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to show up in full uniform. St George’s Day. is one of the these two occasions. The other is Remembrance Sunday.
The annual St George’s Day parade and service is an important event in the life of the Scout Association when our Promise is renewed. This year the event will take place on the afternoon of SUNDAY 19th APRIL in LINGFIELD.
Drop off: 2.15pm at LIngfield School, Vicarage road, Lingfield
Pick up: 4.154pm at LIngfield School, Vicarage road, Lingfield
ALL Beavers, Cubs and Scouts should attend in smartest uniform and should wear school shoes, not trainers. Coats may be worn if the weather is inclement, but Scouts should be ready to parade in their shirtsleeves – though Cubs and Beavers had probably best bring, and be prepared to wear, coats at the discretion of parents and leaders.
This is one of the two mandatory events in the Scouting calendar (the other being the Remembrance Day parade in November). We will obviously accept apologies for absence for good reasons, such as ill health, long-planned family gathering, or (by arrangement only) young people playing in sports fixtures at high level such as Cup games.
