Oxted Cub Leaders

All Oxted uniformed leaders are volunteers. They give their time for free and work hard to provide a safe, fun and interesting environment for each member of the Cub Pack to develop.

All uniformed leaders are either Wood Badge Qualified or working towards this qualification by following the thorough Scout Association training programme that. All leaders have to undergo a full Criminal Records Bureau check, supply personal references and be approved by an Adult Appointments Committee before their first appointment. Appointments are also subject to regular review and renewal.

Andy Wright is our Wednesday (Acorn Pack) Cub Scout Leader or “Akela”. He is supported by three Assistant Cub Scout Leaders, Phil Hosp, Michelle Staples and Jon Wells. All these leaders have or had youngsters in Scouting in Oxted Cub and each got involved in leading the Cub Pack at the same time that their children joined the Pack.

Amanda Doran is a hugely experienced Scouter who is our Tuesday (Oak Pack) Cub Scout Leader or “Akela”. Amanda also runs Explorers for those that are aged 14-18.  She is assisted by John Jones, Marcus Roberts and Benjamin Miller.
