Stafford Hut repairs

The Stafford Hut will be under repair over the Christmas holidays. The kitchen and the lavatories will be replaced completely. The work will interfere with normal Scouting activities, as for a period the lavatories will be out of commission and the front doors to the hall will not be usable.

For this reason there will be no Scouts on Monday 17th December. Scouts wil restart on Monday 7 January unless parents are advised differently.

WINTER CAMP 18-20 JANUARY 2008

Parents of children going to the winter camp at Bentley Copse should forward the £30 fee and Medical Information form to me before the camp starts.

Again, any parent wishing technical advice on sleeping bags suitable for use in winter should contact me by phone or email.

This camp will be run by myself and the Group's Akela Tony Soutter.

COLDITZ NIGHT HIKE

Sat. 9 FEBRUARY 2008
When the winter term starts we will select teams for this event, one of the highlights of the winter. Partly to keep numbers down, but also because of the relative youth of younger Scouts today, we restrict this event to children in year 7 or higher.

For work reasons It is possible that I myself will not be available on this date, but the Group's Akela Tony Soutter will almost certainly take a team out if I cannot do it.

SCOUTABOUT - 20-22 JUNE 2008

The Scout Group will join the County's Weekend Activity Camp for Scouts (and Guides) at Ardingleigh Show Ground, Sussex - "SCOUTABOUT". This event will be similar to the "Tons of fun" centenary camp held last year but on a MUCH more massive scale, perhaps ten times the size, with thousands of children on site.
