The 1st Oxted Scout Group needs a volunteer QUARTERMASTER.

The quartermaster is in charge of equipment. Tents, ropes, stoves, lanterns, axe and saw - this is the stuff that needs looking after. We have a large shed full of equipment that needs taking care of. Much of it has lain unused for a number of years and may be junk - in that case it needs throwing out. Other stuff is good and just needs cleaning and an inventory making - in many cases we do not even know what we have.

This role would suit someone practical who is willing to spare perhaps 8-10 evenings and a number of weekends each year to keep on top of our equipment. Initially the role would be heavily supported by the uniformed leadership. A number of us have spent many hours looking at our equipment in addition to running the uniformed sections. Now we are looking for someone to help us with this.

If you feel you may be the person for this vital volunteer role, please speak to or otherwise contact any uniformed leader or member of the Executive committee.
