| The 1st Oxted Scout Group needs more volunteer UNIFORMED LEADERS
The Scout Group has: A single Beaver Colony of 16 children with a waiting list as big again, with two leaders. In the Cubs there are 27 children, handled by Tony and Phil. There are nearly 30 children in the Scout Troop, and there are three leaders.
All seven of these uniformed volunteers have their own families and jobs as well as doing Scouting. Also, at the moment the role of Group Scout Leader is assumed by one of the Scout leaders.
All parental help is welcome and essential - the Group could not function otherwise. We would also like to welcome anyone who wishes to assist us on a regular basis, leading to being a uniformed Scouter.
This is very rewarding and enjoyable work, but it is also challenging. Appropriate training is provided free of charge by the Scout Association. There is a minimum time commitment involved, of some 40 evenings per year, as well as a number of days at the weekend. All volunteers must agree to undergo a Scout Association CRB check. There is no charge for this.
If you feel you would like to try out join us in this challenging but very rewarding work, please contact me by email, or contact any uniformed leader or member of the Executive committee.
