About us

Our Scout Group is over 100 years old and still thriving to this day

About Us** Our next Bike Sale will be on the morning of Sunday 11th May 2025 **

Our Scout Group was formed in 1911. These days it covers Oxted and Hurst Green in East Surrey and is based out of two halls: the Stafford Hall on Chalkpit Lane, Oxted and the Scout Hall on Mill Lane, Hurst Green.

We attract nearly 200 youngsters each week to enjoy Scouting. See other sections for details of the 2 Beaver Colonies, 3 Cub Packs, 3 Scout Troops and our Explorer Unit.

Over the years, scouting in Oxted has been based out of locations such as Master Park and a building near the Barn Theatre. For the last 40+ years we have operated from our own purpose built scout hall on Chalkpit Lane, Oxted. In 2018 we successfully re-started scouting in Hurst Green after a period of closure, where we now run Cubs and Scouts and soon hope to be running Beavers. In Hurst Green we operate from another purpose built scout hall that was built and funded by the local community, after a fire destroyed the original building in 2005.
