About Us

** THERE IS NOT A BIKE SALE ON SUNDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER 2024 **
The next Bike Sale will be in May 2025

Our Scout Group was formed in 1911. These days it covers Oxted and Hurst Green in East Surrey and is based out of two halls: the Stafford Hall on Chalkpit Lane, Oxted and the Scout Hall on Mill Lane, Hurst Green.

We attract nearly 200 youngsters each week to enjoy Scouting. See other sections for details of the 2 Beaver Colonies, 2 Cub Packs, 3 Scout Troops and our Explorer Unit.

Over the years, scouting in Oxted has been based out of locations such as Master Park and a building near the Barn Theatre. For the last 40+ years we have operated from our own purpose built scout hall on Chalkpit Lane, Oxted. In 2018 we successfully re-started scouting in Hurst Green after a period of closure, where we now run Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. We operate from another purpose built scout hall that was built and funded by the local community, after a fire destroyed the original building in 2005.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
